Custom Framing

Home of the Midwest's best custom frame creations!

LilyCrest's owner Cathy Clatworthy is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art & Design in Toronto, Ontario. Her early years, learning the art gallery/custom picture framing trade, began at The Allery in downtown Toronto while studying at OCAD. It was several years later, working as a professional graphic designer, that Cathy gave-up that corporate fast-lane to dwell among the antiquarian prints and maps at The Allery. During those years she developed skills in preservation framing and paper conservation. Her knowledge and expertise within her field awarded her designation CPF certification from PPFA (Professional Picture Framers Association) in 1996. Subsequently she began working as an educational trainer within the picture framing industry including America's largest manufacturer Larson-Juhl Company of Atlanta, Georgia. Traveling throughout the United States and Canada, Cathy conducted training programs, specialized workshops and seminars for private galleries, government and corporate businesses.

Settling in South Dakota, Cathy states " Its always felt like home from the moment I drove across the prairie". She fell in love with the Yankton area and all it's history - the river and Lake, "its natural beauty gave to me a new kind of inspiration, something to expand upon for the next chapter of my life!", she says.

Her experience working within the Art & Framing industry brings to our customers quality custom framing, creative design and sound framing practices for their artwork. Here are some examples of her work.
